Clue #1

We're here again my omnipresent friends,
Facing another fall classic.
I plan to lead you in every direction,
But my rules are pretty basic.

Confusion, of course, will be prevalent.
There's a method to my madness.
The successful hunter will leave happy,
While the others will suffer in sadness.
